FAQs

What is the application process?
Allow yourself around 45 minutes to complete the application. What you will need: - All of your personal details including National Insurance Number. - Your right to work documentation. - Time to complete our online assessment. - Your availability over the coming days or weeks to select an interview slot. Your interview will be based in one of our stores and will give you the opportunity to decide if M&S is the right match for you, as well as allowing our managers to get to know you better. If you have seen a number of roles in the same store that are of interest, you don’t need to apply and book an interview for each one. Please discuss these roles as part of your interview with the interviewing manager to agree which is right for you. If you have had an unsuccessful application for a similar role in the past 6 months, we do ask that you wait until the 6 months period has passed before applying again.
What shifts will I work and what can I expect from the role?
The working pattern for each role can be found at the top of the job advert. These are indicative shift patterns and may change depending on the needs of the store. Before you apply, please familiarise yourself with the In-Store page to get a feel for what the role may entail.
What do I do if I need more support during the application process?
As part of the application process, you will be asked if you require any reasonable adjustments to support you. Please share as much information as you can to allow us to give you the best possible recruitment experience.
What if I have queries about my application or interview?
Whilst we make every effort to interview as many candidates as we can, we receive a high volume of applications so this isn’t always possible. If there aren’t any interview slots available, please continue to check back on your application as we’ll be adding more slots as often as we can. Alternatively, you can apply for another role that may be suited to you. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to complete your application again. Our systems will recognise that you have already done this. If you have secured an interview slot but can no longer attend, please use the cancellation option on your invite. If you wish to reschedule, please be aware that, due to high demand for our roles, we can’t guarantee you a new slot. Once you start an M&S application, you’ll find the contact details for your Recruiter in your email from us. All queries about the status of your application should be directed to this email address.
