Summary
Our international business brings our famous M&S Clothing, Food and Home products to over 32 million customers worldwide. We are now aiming even higher, and our goal is to more than double the size of our business over the next 5 years, so this is a remarkable time to join us and make your mark!

Are you a Logistic Development Manager who has experience of International Markets from a Direct to Customer (D2C) and Business to Business (B2B) perspective including Marketplace & Wholesale? Then this role might be of interest as it is a multifaceted E2E role which requires an understanding of the sophisticated Logistics problems and challenges across different selling channels. You will need to draw on your experience to create and build scalable solutions across numerous projects that are running in parallel at different stages of the project lifecycle

The successful applicant will need to develop logistics solutions to support both continuous improvement, issue resolution and strategic change across all logistics channels that feed into our project pipelines to support the Clothing & Home roadmap.

NB: To stay close to customers, our support teams in our Paddington Support Office are there three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Develop business arguments including the operational and financial analysis and present this in a way which drives clear decision making. Utilise and combine operational and financial data sets and reports to monitor key critical metrics and project benefits.
  • Complete ‘Request for Proposal's’ (RFP). To support detailed business arguments costing, evaluation of operational change and work with operational teams to ensure solution design is optimal and meets requirements.
  • Identification, monitoring and managing project risks. Including working with key partners to agree mitigation strategies and raise critical issues as needed with a particular focus on maintaining service to our partners and channels
  • Understand programme dependencies and work across Supply Chain and wider international teams to ensure change is delivered effectively and in a connected way across the End 2 End Supply Chain Network and International business
  • Support Head of Logistics with the governance of the portfolio. Ensuring decisions are facilitated in a timely manner with the correct information and decision makers and all dependencies, issues and risks are effectively managed and programmes integrated in a cohesive way. Appropriate communication in relevant forums of the statuses on the project

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include

  • Programme management experience, leading and running multiple and diverse projects with the ability to build meaningful and scalable solutions and implement continuous improvement techniques to deliver them
  • Previous International logistics operational experience covering both D2C and B2B. With an excellent understanding of what is required to enable an outstanding delivery operation who can deliver change, and tangible business improvements
  • A strategic problem solver, with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships across the international team. Who can influence others to move towards a common vision or goal in an environment where no two days are the same
  • Commercially and financially astute with data analytical and reporting skills who are highly proficient utilising Excel and competent in the use of PowerPoint.
  • A phenomenal communicator who has the ability to build strong relationships that enables them to influence key partners and deliver complex messages in a relatable way to a range of key partners both internal and external.
