Summary
An exciting opportunity to join our Franchise department at M&S Foods working with one of our 9 Franchise Partners. Our Franchise department supports over 500+ Franchise Convenience Stores across the UK, Channel Islands and Ireland, this role sits within the Supply Chain and Store Performance function.

You will be accountable for the total forecast and inventory management of all stocking points ranged to our Hospital store estate (Fresh and Ambient), ensuring accurate stock allocation, driving availability, and mitigating waste impact to our Partner using our forecasting systems (RELEX). Day to day forecast alignment and exception management in our forecasting systems is key, but you will also be accountable for all long-term forecast and volume planning relating to local event, disruption, recapture, and deflection management and working alongside our Commercial teams to support all Phase and Seasonal Events.

Your ability to provide accurate data insight to your Partner/s and internal teams is key, you will need to provide your own analysis to highlight risk and opportunity relating to range and CiCL (case in code life), sales growth, waste risk, availability opportunity and so on.

Finally, you will work closely with our wider Food team in the categories, commercial and SRD to ensure you stay aligned to all key business updates and any actions that impact our Franchise Estate. You will drive improvements in our cross-functional ways of working capabilities across the team with our colleagues across the business to ensure we maximise all opportunities available to drive performance across our Estate such as NPD opportunities, delivery schedule opportunities, maximising our trade opportunities in key periods such as School holidays, Summer, post-Christmas etc.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

Key Accountabilities

Your key accountabilities will include

  • Actively seek opportunities to improve store sales, availability and waste to drive positive LFL business performance.
  • Identify and agree focus stores on a quarterly basis with your Retail and Partner colleagues, these will be key to driving performance and hitting key KPIs.
  • Support our Commercial teams in delivering brilliant Events and Phases with accurate stock placement and reacting to Partner/Retail feedback.
  • Provide support for stores impacted by new competitors opening or closing. You will support stores in hypercare when trading local events, disruption, competition openings/closures and so on.
  • Cluster alignment to ensure you stay informed on all Cluster (Produce) key category information and relay all Franchise activity, opportunity, risk back into the category teams.

Your skills and experience will include

  • Strong analytical skills – able to interpret data and offer solutions to improve performance in store
  • Competent in Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving – ability to resolve complex issues, take risks and react with pace
  • Stakeholder management within Head Office, Logistics and in Retail and making use of relationships
